How To Keep Your iPhone Battery Health at 100%

Keeping your iPhone Battery Health at 100% definitely seems impossible. Most iPhone users report having a decrease in the battery health of the iPhones in less than a month since they first got them. The higher percentage of these users are those that just transitioned to the iPhone and were formerly Android users.

This is understandable as those who are already conversant with the workings of an iPhone know what to do and what not to do, which affects the battery health of their iPhones. But, Android, known for being rugged, can basically be handled anyhow and not have to worry about battery health or its battery life diminishing over a very long period of time.

In this article, I’ll be highlighting every single thing you need to put into account to keep your iPhone Battery Health at 100% for the longest it can be. I mean, I don’t recommend you keep getting anxious and checking your battery health every single time.

Even an iPhone at 90% or 80% battery health performs very well and will still last you for a long period of time. Either you follow all these to the latter, or you just decide to use your iPhone anyhow you want. At some point, you’re still going to see diminishing Battery Health on your iPhone. I mean, that’s how batteries work. They can’t be new forever.

But, for you to at least maintain your iPhone in the best way you can and keep the battery health at 100% for the longest time, this guide is very important to you.

1. Always Keep Your iPhone Updated

Your iPhone, at the time of purchase, will have an iOS version that it runs with. But, over time, this iOS version will get outdated as Apple will release new versions that you can upgrade your iPhone to.

Apple has talked about how updating your iPhone can actually maximize and improve your iPhone’s lifespan. To update your iPhone:

  • Go to the “Settings” app on your iPhone
  • Tap on “General”
  • Click on “Software Update”
  • You should see an update for your iPhone here; if there’s any available, tap on “Update” to begin updating your iPhone to the latest version of iOS available for it.
  • Make sure you have sufficient battery on your iPhone before you start this process.

2. Regulating your iPhone’s Screen Brightness

Another thing that could be draining your iPhone’s battery health faster is when the brightness of your iPhone is always set at the maximum. Power from your battery will be used to power this light coming from your screen, and the brighter it is, the more your battery will get drained.

To regulate this, you should activate “auto-brightness” on your iPhone or just make sure your screen brightness is mostly low. To enable “auto-brightness” on your iPhone:

  • Open the “Control Centre” on your iPhone
  • Drag your brightness slider to the bottom
  • Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone
  • Click on “General”
  • Tap on “Accessibility”
  • Click on “Display Accomodations”
  • Now you can set your “auto-brightness” to ON.

3. Manually Set your iPhone to Low-Power Mode

Whenever your iPhone is getting low, your iPhone automatically gets set to “Low-Power” mode and this saves the battery of your iPhone. You can also manually activate this feature to save the battery of your iPhone.

  • Open “Settings” on your iPhone
  • Scroll downwards and tap on “Battery”
  • Activate “Low-Power” mode.

4. Prevent Applications from Auto-Refreshing

To do this:

  • Go to “Settings” on your iPhone
  • Click on “General”
  • Click on “Background App Refresh
  • Turn it off.

5. Charging Habits!

You’re probably thinking that the first thing I’m going to say is that you shouldn’t leave your iPhone plugged in even when it’s full. Your iPhone is actually smart enough to know when it’s fully charged ,and it won’t allow any extra charge into it to protect your battery.

So, the widespread notion that leaving your iPhone plugged in while it’s full diminishes your battery health isn’t true.

Instead, what you should focus on are your charging habits. Make sure your iPhone doesn’t keep running out of battery. In fact, make sure once your iPhone hits 20%, you plug it in immediately.

And, it’s also been proven that not having your iPhone on full charge all the time also helps battery health. So, charge your iPhone when it gets to 20% and charge it to 90%, then you can start using it again.

If you maintain this charging habit, your iPhone’s battery health will last longer at 100%.

6. Use iPhone’s Original Charger!

iPhones have a specific wattage of power that needs to be going into them and when you compromise this by using chargers made by companies that are not Apple. Or, you just get a charger from your local gadget store, and just because it has an iPhone-compatible pin, you get it and start using it to charge your iPhone.

If you lose your charger, make sure you get another from any official Apple store near you, or you can order a new charger directly from Apple’s Website. Avoid WISH. Lol.
