The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has made it easier for mobile phone users in Nigeria to access their services. The NCC has assigned harmonized short codes to all GSM mobile network operators in Nigeria.
These shortcodes are the same across all networks, so you can use the same code to recharge your airtime, check your balance, or subscribe to a data plan, no matter which network you are on.
This is a big change from the past when you had to use different codes for different networks.
According to NCC as quoted below;
The Commission has already set a deadline of May 17, 2023, for all mobile networks to fully migrate from hitherto diverse short codes to the harmonised codes.
The old codes will still work for a while, but the NCC is encouraging everyone to start using the new harmonized codes as soon as possible. This will help to make it easier for everyone to use their mobile phones and to get the services they need.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is giving telecom consumers in Nigeria some time to get used to the new harmonized short codes. The old codes will still work until May 17, 2023, so consumers can take their time to learn the new ones.
