Tecno Pop 8 Review: A Budget-Friendly Smartphone

Tecno pop 8 review

Here’s the Tecno Pop 8 review, do you know the smartphone is budget-friendly?

The Tecno Pop 8 is a budget Android smartphone with solid features for the price. It targets buyers who want a capable, easy-to-use device for everyday tasks without compromising on basics like battery life.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: is it Worth the Price?

Design and Features

The Pop 8 has a sleek, modern design reminiscent of other Tecno and Infinix phones. Its all-plastic construction keeps it lightweight, while subtle patterning on the back adds some flair. The phone comes in four color options.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for easy unlocking, dual speakers for louder audio, a USB-C port for charging, and a headphone jack.

Storage is expandable via a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB cards.

The Pop 8’s 6.6-inch display has an adjustable refresh rate, allowing you to choose between 60Hz and 90Hz. The higher refresh rate delivers a smoother on-screen experience.

Touch sensitivity is highly responsive when streaming video, gaming, and more.

Performance and Battery Life

An Unisoc T606 processor powers the Pop 8. It handles everyday tasks and casual games decently but can lag with intensive 3D games.

There are two RAM/storage configurations available. The phone runs Android 13 Go Edition to optimize performance on its hardware.

Its standout feature is phenomenal battery life, thanks to a huge 5,000mAh battery. You can easily get through an entire day or even two without charging.

When you do need to recharge, the included 10W charger takes around two hours for a 0-100% charge—not blazing fast but respectable.

Cameras

For photography, the Pop 8 provides a dual rear camera system: A 13MP main shooter and 0.08MP depth sensor for portrait effects. Video recording maxes out at 1080p.

Around front is a 5MP selfie camera. Don’t expect top-tier image quality, but the cameras are solid for casual snapshots and video chats.

Our Verdict

If you want a reliable, long-lasting Android phone without breaking the bank, the Tecno Pop 8 should meet your needs.

It covers all the basics and provides excellent battery life at an affordable price point. For even faster 5G connectivity, consider the similar Itel P55. But overall, the Pop 8 represents a great value buy.
