Hello Comrades! In this article, I’ll be explaining How to Lock your WhatsApp application with Biometrics, Pincode, Password, and even Pattern verification.

WhatsApp, the instant messaging application used by billions of individuals for communication, is designed with the concept of keeping everything between users safe. WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, ensuring that everything you send, whether it’s messages, chats, or video calls, is safe and that no prying eyes can look inside.

To increase the security of your WhatsApp, you may enable app security via your device’s settings using Pin, Biometrics, or Face ID to ensure that your personal data remains safe from unauthorized surveillance. This ensures that even if your smartphone is available to others, nobody is able to open your WhatsApp without your consent.

So, we’ll first take a look at how to lock your WhatsApp application on Android devices using your fingerprint, and then we’ll take a look at the different methods you can lock your WhatsApp application if you use an iPhone.

How To Lock Your WhatsApp Application on Android Devices: Using Fingerprint

When your Android device has a fingerprint sensor, it definitely makes locking and unlocking selected applications very easy. I mean, compared to typing in a password or a pin. Or, even having to draw a pattern to unlock your applications, using a fingerprint scanner has to be the fastest and most reliable of them all.

For you to activate locking and unlocking your WhatsApp application on your Android device, you can use WhatsApp’s In-Built fingerprint unlock feature, and you can also do this by using your Android Device’s In-Built lock feature.

Using WhatsApp’s In-Built Fingerprint Unlock Feature

To use this:

  2. Open your updated WhatsApp application
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. Click on “Account”
  5. Tap on “Privacy”
  6. Scroll downwards till you come to an option that says “Fingerprint Lock.”
  7. Tap on the feature and then toggle on the “Unlock with Fingerprint” option. Also, you can set the duration it takes for your WhatsApp to lock after you leave the app. It can be Immediately, after a minute, or after thirty minutes.

Using Android’s In-Built App Fingerprint Unlock Feature

To use this;

  1. Go to “Settings” on your Android Smartphone
  2. Scroll down to “Apps” and tap on it
  3. Now, you’ll see an option that says “App lock.” Tap on that.
  4. You will now see all the applications available on your device. You’ll see a toggle bar in front of all applications. You can now go to WhatsApp and toggle the bar ON so that you’ll now require a fingerprint verification before you can log into your app.

How To Lock Your WhatsApp Application on Android Devices: Using External Applications

If, for some reason, your version of WhatsApp does not have an In-built lock feature, then you can still lock your WhatsApp application using some trusted third-party applications that allow you to lock your WhatsApp application by assigning a Pattern, Pincode, or Password to your WhatsApp application.
